Agriturismo “La Virginia” was born from the careful renovation of an old country farmhouse, set in meadows and chestnut trees, converted into an old mansion with materials that belong to the land: exposed stone, wood, terracotta, and antique furniture from the Occitan Alpine valleys.

Our rooms are all personalised: two romantic suites with four-poster beds and bright red curtains; “Leonardo’s Room”, overlooking Montebracco — Leonardo’s mountain, where the master took the stone he loved for his works; the “Bandits’ Room”, where in the days of the “camin dl sal” travellers, pilgrims and bandits would stop; and the room of “Ruchin and Biasina”, the masks of Revello, who legend says met in the shade of Mombracco, a few steps from the inn.

An important place is the crota (cellar), where wines and grappas rest at the right temperature to give the traveller a little more joy. Bread comes from the wood-fired oven, milk from cows grazing the pastures of Monviso, pasta is homemade: try the gnocchi with Tumin dl Mel, tagliatelle with sausage, Pelaverga risotto, vitel tuné the old way, peppers in bagna caoda, green anchovies, mountain-herb lardo with boiled chestnuts, vegetable meatballs with aubergines, and the rolled roast baked in the wood oven after the bread.

Guests can also enjoy guided tastings of cured meats, cheeses and wines.
