Lands of the Marquisate, under Monviso.

Natural and architectural treasures

Nearby there are plenty of natural and architectural treasures: the Cistercian Abbey of Staffarda, the Marquess Chapel in Revello, Monviso with Pian del Re where the river Po is born, the archaeological site of Balma Boves — a hamlet built under a rock — and Ostana, a village entirely in stone. A few minutes by car, do not miss Saluzzo, ancient capital of the Marquisate, one of the most fascinating towns in Piedmont (the old Castle of the Marquesses, the church of San Giovanni, Casa Cavassa, a 15th-century residence, and the Silvio Pellico museum). On the way back, the Castle of Manta (FAI) with the fresco of the Fountain of Youth, and the Castle of Racconigi, summer residence of the Savoy royal family until 1946, a stop on the Circuit of Savoy Residences.
